Solidarity with Iranian Women

WDI stands in solidarity with the brave women and girls of Iran who are fighting for their rights in the face of violent opposition from the authorities. Several women and girls have already been killed in the protests against forced hijab laws.

Article 4 of the Declaration reaffirms women’s rights to freedom of expression. Article 5 reaffirms our rights to freedom of association and Article 8 calls for the elimination of violence against women. We call on women everywhere to support our Iranian sisters in their courageous battle for their rights and on the Iranian authorities to end their decades-long brutal oppression of women and girls.
