WHRC would like to welcome all our new signatories! In this weekly newsletter you can read about what's been happening here at WHRC, the latest headlines on sex-based rights around the world, information on ongoing campaigns, events taking place and resources to help your own activism and understanding.

Declaration signatories reach 25,000

We're delighted that over 25,000 people have now signed the Declaration on Women's Sex-Based Rights. Since Monday, when evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins signed, the Declaration has had over 5,000 new signatures. 

Brazilian newspaper mentions WHRC Brasil in video about sex-segregated spaces

Gazeta do Povo, a conservative Brazilian newspaper, mentioned local collective QG Feminista and WHRC Brasil in a video about sex-segregated spaces. This video was a response to those celebrating unisex toilets in a McDonalds located in Bauru, state of Sao Paaulo. Feminist Question Time and Radical Feminist Perspectives

This week's Feminist Question Time features Gunda Schumann from Germany on the settlement of transgender ideology in German politics and law, Jennifer Bilek on what is behind transgender ideology and Jaclyn J on the 'gender identity' legislation currently being enacted in Taiwan. Self-ID likely in Germany

The new coalition government in Germany has announced plans to introduce sex self-identification. The bill would make 'misgendering' and 'deadnaming' offences, would allow sex self-ID, fund sex 'reassignment' surgery from health insurance and introduce the teaching of 'gender identity' to schools. Canadian school board cancels talk from Yazidi sex slave

A Canadian school board has cancelled a talk from Nadia Murad, a Yazidi woman who has written a book about her experiences at the hands of ISIS, on the grounds that it may 'foster Islamophobia'. 

Spanish newspaper says choosing your sex and age will end discrimination

Spanish daily newspaper, La Vanguardia, is promoting the theory that allowing people to choose their sex and age will end discrimination and suffering. 

Rape victim forced to leave counselling due to presence of men

A rape victim in the UK left her counselling and support group after a large man who had not altered his appearance in any way, or disclosed any sexual abuse, joined it. When she raised concerns with the group (which offers trans-only and male only groups) she was told to leave. 

Radical feminists attacked on march against VAWG

A group of radical feminists in Brussels were attacked by trans rights activists on a march to protest against violence against women. Trans activists are now reporting the group's social media accounts en masse. 

High school girls in Scotland avoid unisex toilets because of boys

Girls at high schools in Scotland have been avoiding using the lavatories during school hours after boys were seen urinating in sanitary bins and waving sanitary towels like flags. Read Andreia Nobre's article in 4W on why access to single-sex toilets is a woman's human right. 

Male child rapist grooms vulnerable woman after moving to women's prison

A man who was convicted of raping a 12 year old girl successfully applied to be moved to a women's prison in Washington state after he claimed to be a woman. While in the women's estate he groomed and raped a developmentally disabled and vulnerable female prisoner. 

Children suffered health problems after puberty blockers

Sweden's Karolinska Institute has reported that children prescribed puberty blockers suffered severe side effects. 

Male athlete breaks women's records in US university swimming meet

A male swimmer has smashed several women's records in various events. The article does not mention he is male. 

LGBTQ Nation calls raped women prisoners 'TERFs'

Publication LGBTQ Nation calls women prisoners who have been sexually assaulted by males placed in their estate, 'TERFs'. 

Brazilian state lawmaker initiates bill against unisex toilets

Altair Moraes, a conservative state legislator, started a bill to forbid unissex toilets in the state of São Paulo, bill ("projeto de lei") nº 696/21. Its exceptions are family toilets (that WC´s to father with daughters and mothers with sons) and businesses with only one toilet. The idea came after the rejection of unisex toilets in a McDonald´s in his state.

No Corpo Certo spokesperson interviewed about detransition

Eugenia Rodrigues, journalist and spokesperson of Brazilian campaign "No Corpo Certo", gave an interview about detransition. The interview was published by newspaper O Globo and also mentioned famous detransitioned Keira Bell.
