WDI supports Christina Ellingsen, our Norwegian country contact, who is under investigation by police for tweets in which she said men cannot be women, lesbians or mothers. Christina faces up to 3 years in prison if convicted.

Norwegian feminist facing prison for 'hate speech'

Christina Ellingsen of WDI Norway is being investigated by police after a man who pretends to be a lesbian made a report against her for 'hateful' tweets that stated men can not be women. If convicted, Christina could be sentenced to up to 3 years in prison.

WDI offers support to Ms Shono in Japan

WDI offers support and solidarity to Ms Shono Yoriko, a distinguished Japanese writer who is suffering unacceptable abuse, smears and cancellation for defending women’s sex-based rights. We call on the literary establishment in Japan to condemn Ms Shono’s treatment and offer her their support.
